Cascading Falls and Hydro Electric Power
A Few Facts On Hydroelectric Power In British Columbia
Our many beautiful waterfalls and rivers in BC produce hydroelectric power, or electricity that is generated by hydro power, which is produced by nature’s own gravitational force of fast flowing water.
These hydroelectric facilities produce clean and renewable energy for years. In fact, most of our electricity in British Columbia comes from hydroelectricity.
So while you’re enjoying the beauty of the Falls, at the same time our rivers and cascading falls are producing electricity by flowing into the many powerhouse stations in the Province that collect and produce electricity using a Turbine Generator.
Take A Refreshing Dip At Cascade Falls
During those hot summer days, all along McConnell Creek above and below the falls, are perfect swimming holes where you can take a dip in the crystal clear mountain fresh water and at the time, enjoy nature surrounding you.
A perfect location to enjoy a hot summers day!
So if you are looking for a place to stop and enjoy Mission’s beautiful scenery, have a picnic and / or take a dip in the summer, then you simply must mark Cascade Falls on your map.

Enjoying a Dip in the Crystal Clear Waters
Getting to Cascade Falls Regional Park is easy either heading to or leaving Mission City off Highway #7. Below are detailed directions to the Falls and I have included a pin map showing the exact location and where you can also access Google Map directions.
From Mission
From the town of Mission, travel east on Highway #7 and head eastbound towards Harrison Hot Springs. Approximately 6 km from Mission, turn left onto Sylvester Road. There is a large Husky Service Station at this intersection. There is a small Cascade Falls Park sign just before the turn.
Follow Sylvester Road for about 15 km through Mission’s main farming area. Well marked signs to the falls will indicate a right turn onto Ridgeview Road which leads into the main parking area.
